For those who really wanted to but couldn’t make it to Loutro in June, for those who yearn for that special combination of Loutro and the company of writers or, quite simply, for those who want to sit in a room for a week and ‘just write’, Loutro in mid October can be a very welcome entry in your diary. On three evenings during the week there’ll be some normally very convivial get togethers at the group dinners.

David Swann : an experienced university creative writing Tutor and an award winning poet, will be the writer in residence for the week. If those attending want to chat about their writing or poetry then Dave would be on hand for some short one on one’s. Or if the writers might appreciate a ‘workshop type’ cranking up hour or two in the mornings ? Quite flexible.

October in Loutro is very popular. As soon as the Greek schools go back in mid September, the international set moves in and, as typical with Loutro, October regulars return year after year. The climate normally cooperates with a week of sunny Highs in the mid 20s and Lows in the 18-20C region. Occasional storm systems can pass through, with some rain or cloud, something like : 75% sunny dry / 20% occasional cloud / 5% occasional rain. Sea warmer than in June. Better hiking conditions. The October regulars come in the expectation of a late summer break with great weather.
